Small Quilts
Most of the quilts I have made are wallhangings. Here are a few of them.
Amish Berries. September 1992, 91/2" x 9 1/2". Hand pieced, hand quilted for a dollhouse bed.
Amish Crossroads. May-August 1993. Machine pieced, hand quilted. 30" x 30".
Broken Plates. Class sample, 28" x 28", Jan 1992. Before I knew reproduction fabrics existed, I wanted to make a Dresden Plate for a class on beginners applique. I made three different colorways. If you want to see the more subdued green version, click on the picture above.
Violets. October 1998, 15" x 15". Pattern from Mimi Dietrich. Hand appliqued, machine pieced, hand quilted. A gift for my mother who has always liked african violets. When I saw it, I had to make it for her. To see a close up of the bottom right block, click on the picture.
Heart to Heart. Machine pieced, hand quilted. November 2000. I had bought some 2 yards of the border fabric many years ago, but could never find the right quilt. The pattern was one of McCalls Golden Quilts. The picture is not very clear, to see swatches, please click on the picture.
God's Gift. For a few years, I made a new wallhanging every Christmas. Gwen Rogers, one of the ladies I swapped millennium charms with, suggested the name for this one. It's machine pieced, hand quilted from a 1991 Quiltworld Christmas Magazine pattern. 26" x 26".
