The makers that brought us My Little Ponies also brought us something else that was closely related, Fairy Tails! Birds with happy endings! Hasbro only put these guys out for a little while starting in 1986. They simply didn't catch on, everyone thought they were a knock-off when in fact they were unique little birds. Like ponies they had long flowing hair made out of the same material MLP's were, thay had symbols, fur, or other fun things. They came with a brush, and a ribbon for there hair. However, unlike MLP's they had cute little claw like feet that snapped on whatever you put them on (see picture to the right). For this reason they came with perches that they could sit on confortable without falling off! They were put out in series just like in MLP's and had cute names.
I have two Fairy Tail Birds. Tu-Tu Tails is one of them and she is still in great condition.  If you would like to see a picture

The other is Tinker Tails she is a baby flyer and has all her accessories which is her egg, stand, and rattle and is in excellent condition.

Tiffany Tails!
Because of there inability to catch on like MLP's, Hasbro yanked them off the shelves making them VERY difficult to find. Unlike MLP's they will never be sold again and are very rare little toys indeed. I am not sure how much they are going for but I can guarantee you they aren't going for as much as they are really worth. My Little Pony sites are everywhere but try doing some kind of search for these guys using the search engine, good luck! You will not come up with more then 10 listings, I can guarantee that. Not to mention that even it you find a Fairy Tail Bird they are more times then not damaged beyond repair...example: horribly short hair!  I find that these birds are normally in bad shape more then MLP's are when you finally run accoss one.
The order of series they were put out was:

Original | Fuzzy Tummies | Tropicals | Baby Flyers | Fan Tails | Jewelry Birds
Cloud Puff Tails!
If you love collecting Hasbro toys or if you are just running out of ponies that you need but still want to collect, I would recommend these little birds. Believe it or not my Fairy Tails blend right into my collection of ponies because the plastic they used is the same as early MLP's and like I said before, so is their hair. Their eyes are very cartoonish like MLP's but with differences to make a personality all their own.
Like MLP's these guys had playsets that came with a bird.
Pictured to the left is The Sunshine Gazebo and the bird it came with was Tea Rose Tails she had a magenta body and yellow, magenta & aqua hair with a yellow teapot symbol.
To the right is The Egg Salon or The Curly-Q Boutique. This playset came with Tiffany Tails, she is the bird four pictures up not counting the Egg Salon picture :o)

To the left is The Love Bird Playset. This must be a rare playset because information about this is hard to find. I know that this playset came with the two birds shown together on the left but I am not sure of any other accessories.
