International MOMS Club®
In 1983 a California woman, who was tired
of being home alone, decided to look for other at-home mothers to socialize
with and who had children at home hers could play with. When she couldn't find any that would
accept both her preschooler and her infant she decided to make her own club. And thus, International MOMS Club was born.
MOMS Club® of Cedar Rapids, IA
Our history begins the same way that national began, with a stay-at-home mom
looking for others in similar situations.
She was luckier because she found International MOMS Club on an
internet search. At the time there were no local chapters, so in
September 2001 she started the Cedar Rapids chapter. Four
years later, the local chapter has more than tripled in size. In fact,
it has grown so much that in December 2005 we sistered
into two chapters, North and South.
Thanks to volunteer moms like Therese, there are now thousands of
MOMS Club chapters throughout the U.S. and internationally.
