| Multiple Personalities!! |

| Alrighty, this page isn't that hard to explain. I do NOT suffer from multiple personality syndrome or anything of the sort! I just think I happen to be a sorta unique individual (just like everybody else) so I decided to dedicate a page to the different facets of my personality. I've decided to do this through different personality quiz results that speak for themselves (NOTE: the quiz results are being moved HERE). This is also my excuse for putting up pictures of my favorite characters that I found online! =) |

| In the background you see the many faces of Yukino Miyazawa from "Kare Kano" (or "Kareshi Kanojyo no Jijyo" - "His and Her Circumstances") which probably shows my more selfish and ambitious side. Her story is that she loves getting praise so while she's really a lazy bum at home who would rather hang out in sweat pants she acts like the picture perfect student because she loves recieving praise. Now wait a minute? Didn't I just say I wasn't studious? Well I said I was lazy and that I grew up and just like Miaka I did improve but just like Yukino, I love to be praised and I do have a secret super ambitious side which can be a little psychotic and competative. Yukino, like Miaka, starts changing when she meets a certain boy. In this case he is her competition, Souichiro Arima. Yukino realizes she has a lot in common with her rival except that he had no cruel intentions towards her and while he also has many secrets he does not seek acceptance for the same reasons she does. Yukino and Arima swear to be their true selves after he discovers her as she truly is...and loves her for it! Yukino's true self IS ambitious, though she can be lazy when she wants to be, as well as VERYcutesy, goofy, and loving. As you can imagine Yukino also grows a lot during the series and I love her for everything she is. *See an AWESOME anime music video showing the "Many Faces of Miyazawa"* |

| If you go to my Utena Page - Ohtori Academy you can read all about "Revolutionary Girl Utena" ("Shoujo Kakumei Utena"). I admire Utena Tenjou A LOT and can be an idealist and would like to be strong and noble like a prince. Then again I can be a bit psychotic (and jealous) like Nanami Kiryuu though NOT with my brothers... I'd have to say though, the character that I could really relate to the most in Utena was Wakaba Shinohara. While I do NOT have a huge forhead or look like an onion I'd have to first relate with Wakaba's main characteristics: genki (overly cheerful, happy and energetic), dependant (of course only on the closest people who I love the most), and (until I was fortunate enough to meet my boyfriend) secretly lonely, yearning for self-confidence and acceptance, and BAD taste in men (like I said BEFORE I met my boyfriend NOT now). I absolutely adore Wakaba, she is also the first person to: 1) practically knock over her friends when she greets them with a hug or jumps on their back, 2) smack a friend or throw water at them when they REALLY need to snap out of it and start being themselves, 3) help out someone she loves even if they've hurt her in the past, and 4) be a loyal friend until the very end. If you watch Utena and at first don't like Wakaba just keep watching until you see one of my favorite episodes, "Wakaba Hath Flourished Verdantly" and you will see Wakaba shine and show her true inner pain in a way that just MAKES you feel for her and love her. I also think that if there were to be another relovution in Utena that the series would be called "Revolutionary Girl Wakaba" and no one will convince me otherwise "I swear by this black rose..." |
| The last person I'll write about BEFORE going on to the quizzes is Kagura Sohma from "Fruits Basket". While my boyfriend likes to compare my ditzy-ness to Tohru Honda nobody can deny that I live up to the incarnate of my chinese zodiac animal: the boar. While I'm not AS psychotic as Kagura...the rest is just me. She rushes in headstrong into practically everything, including a love that knows no bounds and friendship. She's VERY sensitive and moody but you couldn't find a more caring person. While her rage and jealousy can be plain scary (and dangerous) those who understand her know that it's just because she wears her heart on her sleeve and plus...if you're not her target, it's a hilarious thing to watch! The last thing I'll say about Kagura is that my favorite guy from "Fruits Basket" is the one she ends up with in the manga...and I won't say who that is but it sure means we have the same taste because all my favorite characters have my taste in men...and in Wakaba's case...my old taste. |
| Though it may seem a bit childish I am a big fan of anime and there are quite a few characters that I seem to be able to relate to A LOT...and one in particular which my friends and I agree I am practically identical to. This character, MY FAVORITE CHARACTER, happens to be Miaka Yuki from "Fushigi Yuugi" ("The Mysterious Play"). In the series of Fushigi Yuugi, Miaka is 15 years old and in Junior High, luckily the series has had continuations and I have gotten to see my favorite character become a high school student and finally a mature woman. Being grown up does not mean that she does not retain her lovable and very goofy personality traits which is why we love her. So because she has grown up in the OVA's and then in Fushigi Yuugi: Eikoden I can STILL say that I'm Miaka incarnate without sounding like I've decided to remain a 15 year old (then again I discovered her when I was about 15 so it was really a perfect match!) Miaka at first is a very immature, hungry, stressed out girl who literally ends up being sucked into another world and later finding out that the reason it happened was because she wanted to escape the stress and responsibilities of her world. The first lines in the series that are directed towards her are "STUDY MIAKA! YOU MUST STUDY!" to which her response is quite comical...however I must say that I've heard those lines myself many times in my life! In the alternate world of the "Universe of the Four Gods" she encounters love, friendships, betrayals, and learns her true inner strength and how to believe in herself. I won't spoil the series but there is an impossible love between her and the other main character, Tamahome, her protecter and warrior in the alternate universe...in the end she realizes that she has to be strong enough to create her own miracle and no longer runs from her own responsibilities (Her appetite never goes away though...and neither has mine). She also demonstrates on numerous occasions that she is a true friend and a good person although she isn't perfect. I can relate to her on many many levels and love her character to death and always will. |

| I decided to add a bit about a new Yuu Watase character I like. Yuu Watase is the creator of Fushigi Yuugi and now that I started to read and watch her new series Ayashi no Ceres ("Ceres - Celestial Legend") I once again felt drawn towards the heroine: Aya Mikage. Now Miaka is still my #1 match but Aya has a few traits of myself as well. Aya is as daring as Miaka (taking it upon herself to attack a man who was stealing a poor woman's purse) and rebellious (hehe - I won't even go there) but the number one thing we have in common (aside from style and wearing A LOT of red) is that we love to sing. The #1 thing I admire about her is her ability to get through all the suffering around her and enjoy the bits of happiness she is given. ^_^ |

| Okay, I found this wonderful website where you can marry your favorite character, anime or otherwise. Now let me first add that I'm perfectly happy in the realm of reality with my boyfriend and this is simply a "fantasy realm" thing. The rules are that you can only have ONE character from each series/book/comic/video game/anime/etc. I think this is a fabulous idea and I'm surprised that no one thought of it sooner because now I have a way of displaying my favorite bishounen (translation: beautiful (possibly slightly afeminite male) characters from each series in a very cool fashion (Okay, Sirius Black from Harry Potter isn't an anime character but I love him anyways and I'm gonna add whoever I feel like!). Shoujo (translation: females) of the world enjoy! |
