Behind the Layout

I've only had a few layouts so far, but I'm hoping I'll have more in the future. As the site progresses, all layout changes will be noted here. Please note that while all the layouts still have links to parts of the sites, they may not neccesarily work, so don't go clicking all over them. They weren't
meant to serve as another layout for you to use.

Current Layout:
Usagi Sweet Cake August 2003-Current
This layout has been the hardest layout yet. It started to take shape in late June 2003, in preparation for Moonlit Dream's second birthday. It took me all of July and August to get it up. I am so proud of this layout, because of all the work it took for me to get it done and because it is truly the only layout I've made myself that I feel organized my site completely.
Total Time: 2 hours to make, 2.5 months to get up

Past Layouts:

Elegant Usagi April 3rd 2003-August 2003
I got a message in my guestbook from someone saying they had thought my site was abandoned because the last date I had on my layout was December. That scared me a little, since I would never abandon my site. So I decided to make a new layout, without the dates on it so that mistake could never be made again. I just sat down one evening and this is the result of that evening's work. This layout plays off of the previous two layouts.
Total Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes to make, half an hour to upload (because of some confusion on mine and geocities part)

Hotaru the Dreamy December 2002-April 3rd 2003
My friend and sister site Katie had given me a photo of Hotaru and asked me to alter it a little through my Picture Perfect program. I played around with the picture for awhile and then I hit a button and I added that filmy layer over the picture to soften it. When I looked at it, I could totally envision a layout out of it, basing that on my previous layout. I played around with the image some more, and later, using Adobe Photoshop 4.0, I made the layout. It took me around 2 hours to finish it. Then I added some text and the trademark Moonlit Dreams at the top to complete the look.
Total Time: 2 hours and 20 minutes

Flowery Usagi Summer 2002-December 2002
After my first layout, I really wanted something different. I tried several different people who made free layouts, but it was only at Ciara's Graphics did I find any that suited me. I found several layouts I liked, but I really wanted a layout with flowers on it. (Mainly because it was spring time and outside all I could see were pretty
flowers sprouting up everywhere.) I finally found this one after about two weeks of searching and it fit what I wanted perfectly. I added some text and put the Moonlit Dreams on top.
Total Time: Two weeks to find layout, half an hour to spruce it up into the result

The Sunshine of Makoto & Rei Summer 2001-May 2002
When I was first re-creating my site into Moonlit Dreams, I had no idea how to make a good layout and a good friend of mine suggested that I try using a free layout. I tried Lycentia and a bunch of other sites, but it wasn't until I went to DayDreamGraphics that I found this layout and I totally loved it. It was simple to maintain and alter and I could figure it out pretty easily. I totally loved it and for the first year of Moonlit Dream's opening, it was what greeted all the visitors. Later, as the site expanded, it couldn't hold all of my links anymore, so I began searching for another layout.
