Not originally on our plan of cities to visit, Dresden became a stopover point on the way to Prague due to damaged train tracks from the immense flooding of August. Our Berlin hostel had a bus shuttle service running to Prague with a stopover in Dresden, and we decided to stay for the weekend to check it out.
Although the weather left much to be desired with its constant clouds & rain, the city was a nice break from the huge city life of Berlin & Amsterdam. We even got out to our first castle of the trip, perched on a mountaintop with stunning views (and steep climbs!). |
