We spent all our time indoors doing computer work, so I didn't take any photos for you! This is Zion National Park in Utah, USA

Today we had an appointment with Rose at 10am to use her computer again. We arrived right at 10 and spent over an hour burning cds. First we transferred over all our New Zealand photos, then made copies of all of our other photo cds so we could ship a copy safely home and still have a backup. Then last but not least, we transferred all our journals to the website. I had finally caught up with the 3 weeks I had been behind, and managed to keep up with the New Zealand ones as well. A good feeling.

After that, we made plans with Rose for dinner, and took off for the train station to get some internet time in downtown. We stopped to have lunch in the mall (our usual spot, across from the internet cafe), then spent the next several hours in the hot, non-air conditioned cafe putting together web pages. We had no luck finding a computer in there with both a working cd drive and the photo editor program, so the pictures would have to wait. The weather was very hot today, but didn't seem as hot as the day before somehow. We also sent a few emails before having to head home to get ready for dinner.

Around 7:15, we took Elaine over to Rose's so she could watch Charlie while we three went out to dinner. Rose drove to Loi Loi's, a good Vietnamese restaurant that she and Brad frequent. We had good conversation over the food, and were glad we got to spend some time with Rose. We didn't stay out long though, and were home by 9:30 to get Elaine and drive back to the house. Once we had settled back in, Glenn watched tv for a bit with John while I got hooked up with Elaine's computer to resize some of the 156 photos we'd taken in New Zealand! I finally got them done around 1am, and let Glenn have the honor of transferring them to the website in the morning. The internet server chose to go down when I'd only transferred about 20 pictures, and I didn't have the patience to wait up for it! But it was good to have it done, and I slept like a brick.

Sunday was our last day in Melbourne, and we didn't have much in mind to do other than relaxing. We both got a chance to speak with our parents in the morning, catching up on latest family news, ironing out details for Fiji, and just enjoying hearing their voices. By the time we finished with phone calls, it was 11am, and we'd decided not to go to the Victoria Market again after all (too much to ship home already!). The best part about today was that the weather had cooled off! Elaine opened up the house and we basked in the cool breeze! It is especially nice for all those who've been facing fire warnings with all the raging heat in the state of Victoria.

We decided to get out of the house for the day, and headed down to the mall so I could have some quality shopping time by myself. Glenn and I shared a nice lunch at Quiznos first, then I told him I'd see him back at that spot in 2 hours! I don't enjoy clothes shopping very much anyway, but when someone else is with me, it actually becomes a chore - I always feel that they're bored an I'm making them wait. So 2 hours to myself was heavenly as I could dictate my own timing and try whatever I wanted. I found a few great pieces to add to my backpacking load, which are totally impractical but make me feel like a girl again at last! No more sloppy grungy thing with these clothes! I felt great.

After that we drove down another street and managed to find an internet cafe that was still open past 5pm on Sunday! It was just the two of us, and we quickly added our newly-resized photos to our New Zealand journals, so those back home can see where we've been. That felt great too, and by the time we had to head to the house for dinner, I was thinking this was a great day. We picked up a bottle of wine and the jigsaw puzzle we'd found for Elaine, presenting them to our hosts over dinner as a small thank-you for their hospitality all these days. Then we got an early night of sleep, as we'd head to Sydney tomorrow.
