Saturday morning and our first full day in Australia. Ken and Adele were up well before us as we slept in until after 8:00 am. This morning we received a call from Erin's mom which Erin enjoyed thouroughly. It was also the first time that we had spoken with Judy since Erin and I had gotten engaged. She was very happy for both of us.

We had a leisurely breakfast before heading out for the day. Adele suggested that we have a picnic at Kings Park which overlooks the main parts of Perth. Erin and I also wanted to accomplish a few things including stopping at the information booth, buying a guide book for Australia, trading our used books, and the internet. We finally headed out around 11:00 am with our first stop being a mall downtown. The information store for Perth and the surrounding area was our first stop and we gathered plenty of information for Erin and I to soak in over the weekend. We also found a bookstore for guide books and a second hand book store. While we were shopping Erin, along with Adele, took the time to check out some dresses. She found a dress to wear for our wedding in Fiji and we agreed that she should get it since she had found a dress she actually liked. She will have to carry it around for a few months but no worries.

After our shopping spree we went to Kings Park where we enjoyed lunch with a spectacular view of the city. After lunch and a walk around the park we drove through the town of Freemantle (where the Australian "America's" Cup was raced). We stopped at the "Round House" and the whale tunnel. We returned home by 5:30 pm as Ken and Adele had babysitting duty tonight.

Ken and Adele's oldest son Paul along with his wife Donna brought over the kids, Emma and Joshua, for the night. We spent some of the evening showing photos from our trip while Erin watched a movie with the kids. We sat up quite late before "hitting the hay". Erin and I are still working out the 5 hour time change from South Africa so we are up a little later and sleeping in still.
