This is the Sundial of Human Involvement in Kingston. The overcast weather did not permit me to actually prove out the sundial. Maybe next time!!!

We are up casually with the place basically to ourselves. Breakfast was included in the room rate and included cereal, toast, jam, and coffee or tea. It worked!! After breakfast we hit the road. Today was overcast but we would make our way to Beachport and decide from there whether to go on or not. The drive took us through Kingston where we stopped for lunch. We even took time to photograph Larry the Lobster displayed in front of a tourist trap and check out the Sundial of Human Involvement. The sundial required you to stand on a location related to todays date and the sun would use your body to point to the time. Pretty interesting!!

We continued on through Robe onto Beachport. We reached Beachport early enough and with the weather still very overcast we decided to head on. We took the time for a scenic drive around Beachport before moving on to Mt. Gambier. We arrived in Mt. Gambieraround 5:00 pm where we found the Mount View Hotel. At the front desk we ran into a couple that we had seen somewhere before. Once we got to talking we realized that we had seen each other on Kangaroo Island over the past weekend. We introduced ourselves and met Eveline and Marcel (from Switzerland) who are traveling around Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico for 6 months. After further discussion we determined that we ahd very similiar schedules including taking the same ferry to Tasmania on Friday and flying to New Zealand on the 2nd of January. While I was talking Erin took care of getting us a room for the night. We also invited Marcel and Eveline to join us for a movie tonight at 7:00 pm.

After stopping out for a quick meal near the movie theater we met Marcel and Eveline at the theater around 6:45 pm for the 7:00 pm movie. We had agreed to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding. It was a hoot as Erin and I laughed about being glad we were not going through the same things for our wedding day. We agreed the Fiji wedding is the best for us!!! Eveline and Marcel also enjoyed the movie as they did not struggle terribly with the English (as it is not their primary language, even though they speak it well).

After the movie we enjoyed a few drinks at the nearby bar before calling it a night around 11:00 pm. They invited us to join them for breakfast at 8:30 am as their room had a full kitchen. We crashed pretty quickly upon returning home.
