| Salzburg was our 'small town' stop, and one of the most beautiful places we saw on this trip. Located at the foot of the Bavarian Alps, it is a very touristy place with connections to many off-the-beaten path attractions. Some examples of things to do around Salzburg (once you tire of its lovely old town area and expensive shops): ice caves, salt mines, horseback riding, hang gliding. |
