Evidently written by someone who knew Nicholas Dee Sr, and found in the Roy and Sadie Dee home in Limestone Siding, Victoria County, New Brunswick, Canada and conveyed to James Dee of Hartland, NB.
~MDM told James Dee that:

1861 census gives her age as too young to have married either her first or second husband. The 1840 census of Aroostook is earlier and more credibly suggests somewhere between 1790 and 1800 (a ten year range). We go with 1800 at this time.2Elizabeth Dee, Affidavit, Dept of the Interior Pension Office, 20 Oct 1872.
Fort Fairfield. Affidavit in support of her US Civil War survivors pension application. She gives her age as 82. This is consistent with the 1840 census but inconsistent with the 1861 census.3Elizabeth Dee, Affidavit, 30 Oct 1872.
