Family Update:

The kids are doing well and growing up/moving out way too quickly.

Erin - 20 yrs old - Sophomore at Pace University, NYC, NY

Jay - 17 yrs old - Sr. at Spring Lake High School (hoping to get in to Michigan State University.)

Kendall - 14 yrs old - 8th Grade (do you remember that year?  mr Hardy et al?)

Tim is teaching genetics/biology at a local college and I have recently started my own national healthcare recruiting agency (working from home is amazing!)  We have spent the last year and a half remodeling a house on a few wooded acres and are moving in this weekend to be tehre in time for Christmas.  Whew!  We never knew we could learn how to do all that was needed to make the place livable - demolition, stair moving, wall building, wiring and rewiring, drywalling, mudding and tapping (the worst job!), insulating, painting, landscaping, tree chopping, trench digging, trimming installing way too many ft of hardwood florring, etc...  You get the picture.  The best part is that we are still happily married, even with all of those hours spent wrangling over decisions and very long Saturdays up to our necks in dust, paint and grime.  It really was fun and extremely rewarding, though I hope we don't ever decide to do that again!

Some of you may know that Sam (my youngest brother) was very ill about 2 years ago with Guillain-Barre syndrome, which is a fairly rare complication from the flu that attacks and destroys the lining around the nerves, starting with extremities and moving inward and upward.  We were worried that we might lose him when he began to have great difficulty breathing out thansk to modern technology and some very good care, he has made a nearly full recovery.  He struggled with some facial paralysis and overall weakness for quite a few months, but seems to be doing really well now.  Thank God!  Sam's wife Becca and their two boys, Jackson and Micah are all doing well, though it has been a rough couple of years.

Jan ('80) and her husband Brian Frook are still living in Florida with their 4 kids (Heather, Abby, Nathan and Brianna).  Drew (Andy) and his wife Pam still live near us in Michigan with their 3 kids (Clare, Lilly and Andrew).  Mom and Dad are doing well, fully enjoying their 'retirement in Port Charlotte, Florida fairly close to Jane's family.  God has been good to us!

I would love to hear from you and if you are ever passing through Michigan - please stop by.  We have lots of room and love to have visitors.

Merry Christmas !
