I have had the pleasure of knowing Jessica Hudson, owner of Eva Lillian Maternity and Nursing Boutique, (through the Internet -- e-mails & bulletin boards) for over a year and a half. Jessica is one of the many moms who would find it impossible to nurse her babies exclusively if it were not for domperidone, because Jessica has a condition known as breast hypoplasia. (Jessica is lucky -- many moms with this condition cannot nurse their babies exclusively no matter how hard they try.) Knowing that Jessica had a vested interest in maintaining her supply of domperidone, I e-mailed her to ask what she'd heard from her supplier. Jessica hadn't yet heard anything about the FDA warning, but immediately went into action & contacted her supplier. Here is the response to her e-mail (reprinted with her permission): |
Hi, Jessica Thank you for your query. At this stage we are currently carrying on with business as usual. We are unsure just how far the FDA will go. We assume that the US receives millions of parcels a day and do not see them opening every parcel. We are of the mind that it is just a scare tactic to stop you from purchasing Domperidone. Sincerely, Wendy |
Jessica has gathered information here on her website about how to contact the FDA and how to write to your representatives in Congress about this matter. She has also generously provided me with contact information for her supplier, which is GlobalDrugTV: Toll-free number from the US: 1-877-271-6591 Keep in mind they are about 17 hours ahead of us (depending which US time zone you're in). You will have to leave a message on their answering machine, but they will get back to you. Alternately, you can e-mail them from a form on their website, which is probably the most convenient way to contact them. |
