How to do computer fan art
Fan art is not all about being good at drawing or painting. Remember, Andy Worhol made millions of dollars and is recognized as a great artist, even though he never once painted a stroke. He simply altered existing pictures. Here, I'll show you how to alter pictures to put on your site, wether it be for banners, or to just enhance an already stunning picture from a Tv show, movie, or video game. All you need is Paint Shop Pro 7. (All I did was use the 30 day free trial of it)
Here was the origional picture from Amadeus. I felt, in this dramatic of a scene, the colors were too light. Had it been a back and white picture, the mood may have been better expressed.
All I did was simply used the effect called old newspaper, setting it to a brighter, but still black and white, faded effect. This gives the picture extra drama and the mood is perfect.
Though this is an excellent picture to start with, I thought the same thing could be applied.
I set it a bit darker so the only things that really stand out are Salieri's hand and his head, showing the sorrow and power of the scene.
