In Loving Memory of Misty     1989 - 2001
My first dog was Misty, aka Moose.  I adopted her from the humane society in Prescott, Arizona.  Her estimated age at that time was one year old.  She had been beaten, starved, and someone at sometime had tried to drown her.  She was found tied to the gate at the shelter on a Memorial Day weekend in 100 degree weather with no food or water and tied too tight to lay down.  She was so emaciated that she had no fur and looked like a walking skeleton.  Even the vet was unable to tell what breed she was.  In later years I had a number of breeders approach me to breed her as they thought she was purebred Golden Retriever.   Moose became my most wonderful companion.  Her favorite thing was 'roadtrip.'  Moose traveled all over the country with me.  We made frequent trips from Georgia to Wisconsin.  The people at the motels got to know her and would try to save 'Moose's Room' for us when I made reservations.  Sadly Moose died October 29, 2001 of intestinal cancer.  I like to think she is waiting by the Rainbow Bridge with her kitty sisters, Pepper and Sister.
After moving to Wisconsin, I contacted Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin (GRRoW) and adopted my second Golden named Rusty in 2003.  In 2004 I fostered, then adopted my third Golden Retriever, Missy.  I am now a volunteer for Wisconsin Adopt A Golden Retriever (WAAGR).

One of my hobbies is researching my family history.  The surnames I am researching are FERRIS, LAW, SIMONDS, DECANTER, ROSE, WARWICK, and many others.  If you are following these families feel free to e-mail me below.  I am happy to trade information and photographs.
Another hobby is making centerpieces from Door County cheeseboxes and other crates and things I find for bases.  I try to attend the Farm Market in Sturgeon Bay as often as possible and offer my centerpieces for sale.  To see my centerpieces please click on the link below.
