| This month's classes are going to be about the CHAMBER OF SECRETS- LESSON 2-A- The founding- Due December 15th As discussed in November's lesson Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago by Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. They built the castle together and educated the first classes of wizards in Hogwart's History. A rift began to grow between Slytherin and the others. Slytherin wanted to be more selective about those who were admitted to Hogwarts. He believed wizards of Muggle Parentage to be untrustworthy... (ALSO SEE LESSON 1 FOR MORE ABOUT SLYTHERIN!) After a while the enmity between Gryffindor and Slytherin became so great that Slytherin left the school. HISTORY RECENTLY CONFIRMED- The Chamber of Secrets was for a long time thought to be legendary. The story of the Chamber of Secrets goes that Slytherin had built a chamber in the castle of which none of the other founders knew of. Slytherin, then sealed the Chamber so that none could open it until his true heir arrived. That heir could unseal the Chamber and release the horror within to purge the school of those unworthy of studying magic. HOMEWORK: NEOMAIL ME YOUR ANSWERS... | This month's classes are going to be about the CHAMBER OF SECRETS- LESSON 2-B- The Recent History- Due last day of December (will accept this Homework as early as Dec. 18 for those going away on Holiday) About 50 years ago reports that the Chamber of Secrets may've been open at Hogwarts started to surface. While in the beginning their were no teeth to the argument as more and more muggles were attacked it seemed obvious to everyone what was happening at Hogwarts. Eventually one student died from the beast who's said to have been in the chamber. The one that dies, Myrtle, stil haunts the second floor girl's bathroom where she met her untimely death. In recent years an old diary of Tom Marvolo Riddle (later Lord Voldemort) surfaced and his memory preserved in the diary for about 50 years was once again able to open the chamber this time through Ginny Weasley. He uses her to release the beast and the beast ends up attacking Ms. Norris and a few of the Hogwarts students. Ginny, then in her first year at Hogwarts, had a very tough time of throwing off the control of Voldemort so she tried to get rid of his diary which is when Harry Potter found it. Once Harry figures out how to work it he talks to Tom and Tom shows him the time when he caught Hagrid, the school's current gamekeeper letting the monster of the Chamber of Secrets out. It is later revealed that Tom was infact the person who opened the Chamber of Secrets and not Hagrid. Ginny who fears Tom will tell Harry all her secrets steals back the diary and is taken down to the Chamber of Secrets where she very nearly died. However, thanks to Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and one now mentally damaged Gilderoy Lockhart she was recovered safely from the chamber. The beast is now vanquished and the students will not have to worry about monster attacks again. HOMEWORK: NEOMAIL ME YOUR ANSWERS...
