10. I need to pick up my child early from school.  What should I do?  You can write a note and send it in your child's Panther folder and I will try to have your child ready at the time specified.  You can also call the school and inform the secretary who will then call me in class.
11.  My child needs to ride a different bus today.  What should I do?  You can write a note and send it in your child's Pather folder or call the school and let them know.  If there is no note or phone call, we can
NOT let your child take a different bus. 
12.  My child is a bus rider, however, I am not sure what bus he/she rides.  You can check the
transportation schedule for bus stops.

Do Kindergarten students received guidance and/or counseling services?  Kindergarten students receive guidance instruction in the classroom on and off every 6 weeks.  Kindergarten SOL's can be viewed on the Guidance Department webpage.  There are smaller groups that meet out of class to work on social skills.  If you are interested in referring your child for social skills, please contact Mrs. Vaneman.
18. I am a parent of an ESOL student and would like to get more involved in my child's education.  Is there a class I can take?  Yes, the class is called PEP (Parents as Educational Partners).  For more information on the BRES ESOL Programs, see

22.  Is there a BRES weekly newsletter?  Yes, it is called the
Panther Press and it is also sent home every Friday in your child's Panther folder or you can click on the link.
23.  What is the best way to contact Mrs. Hare?  I prefer email if possible.  Feel free to
email me with your question or concerns.   If you have questions about lunch, snack, folders, homework, notes, etc.  please email my assistant Mrs. Hatcher.  She checks her email frequently. 
24.  Do the kids have nap time? No, we have "quiet time" for 15 minutes after recess which is when I turn the lights off, put on a classical music CD and ask the kids to be quiet and rest their mind.  Later in the year, I use this as DEAR (drop everything and read) where kids can quietly read books.
25.  Does my child have
homework?  Yes.  Each Monday, your child will get a red homework folder sent home with the assignments listed inside.  Homework is due on Fridays.  Homework is not supposed to be difficult.  It is supposed to be a time when students can work independently and practice the skills learned in school.
