This little lamb's tale is a true story ...
Ode to Minty (in fond memory)

Here lies the body of our precious
Minty.
Although it was short, he'd a good life now, didn'ty.
In the yard he would graze and get fresh daily water,
quite unaware of his up-coming slaughter.
Until this week there had not been a hitch,
But now
Minty'sdead.

Ain't life a bitch.

Minty was saved as a young poddy lamb.
We thought he'd taste good with
mint sauce and some ham.
We thought if we gave him our best grass to eat,
that 'bout Christmas time we'd be in for a treat.
I can still picture a succulent thigh-bone.
(Except that last week his rear-end became fly-blown!)

So now
Minty's dead,
But he's not forgotten.

There won't be a Bar-B,
'coz now
Minty's Rotten!!!
