Joshua Mark Ruggerio

Our beautiful son, Joshua was born January 14, 1999 weighing 6 pounds 8 ounces, with big blue eyes (that later turned to hazel) and lots of dark brown hair (which later became blonde). Joshua was born with a rare medical condition known as Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which caused his cerebellum to be 1/5 the size of other children. Moving was a great challenge for our little boy...we cheered him on as he moved his hand ever so slightly to play with his "astronaut toy." However, Joshua quickly learned to communicate his needs with his big eyes and his infamous pout! Here are some of the things that our "little man" really enjoyed:

Joshua's life was a struggle for him, but as he met each struggle with the courage of a child, he touched many people's lives. He even had a "Preschool Prayer Team" all his own! (One member is convinced that he is singing "Deep and Wide" with Jesus right now, while another says that God is busy playing with Joshua and doesn't always have time to get the moon out at night)

Joshua's struggles came to an end on November 4, 1999 when he went to be with the Lord after a very difficult battle with pneumonia and HUS. We miss Joshua greatly, but take comfort in the fact that he's with the Lord, with a perfect Heavenly body now.
