   BIO

This is not me.

Name:  Michael Thuan Giang

Occupation:  Graduate Student (PhD)

City:  Los Angeles

Personality type (Myers-Briggs):   ENFP

I’m sporadically manic in every personality but consistently stoic.  I can be quiet and dead silent in the mornings and in crowds, but loud and annoying in dyads and small groups.  I get excited about everything but only show it to those I’m comfortable with, and I apologize to those people.

I can’t believe I’m still in school.  I enjoy it, but the temptation of quitting has leapt in front of me.  Oh, I’d like to be the Asian Dude.  A beach bum with wanderlust.  I love traveling.  I’ve gone international, too (and not just Canada), with a camera.  Look around and you may see.

Favorite bands:  Nirvana, U2, Duran, Bowie, Beatles, Garbage, Foo Fighters, DM, Sophie Baxter, REM. Queen

Fave Movies:  LOTR, Moulin Rouge, Amelie, American Beauty, American Psycho, Crouching Tiger, Pi, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, MI2, The Legend, Something About Mary, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, Heat, Being John Malkovich, Hard Day’s Night, Starship Troopers, Kubrick (e.g., Full Metal Jacket, Lolita, Dr Strangelove, 2001), Highlander 1&4, Tombstone, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Amadeus, Office Space, Dirty Work.

Best food places:  Gladstones (Malibu), Mishima (WLA), Golden Deli, Chevys, Zankou Chicken, NBC Seafood, Noodle Café, Curry House.

Places I love to hang out at:  Coffee Shops, Coffee Bean, Star Bucks, Borders, Barnes and Noble.

Instruments Violin and drums (some time ago).

Passions in life:  Photography & Poetry.

Fave literature:  La Morte Darthur, King Lear, Joe Orton Complete Plays, The Once and Future King, What the Buddha Taught, The Miracle of Mindfulness, The Wind-up Bird Chronicles, American Psycho, Memoirs of a Geisha, LOTR, Different Hours, Between Angels.

Bands I have to see:  REM, Sophie Baxter.

Disorders:  Insomnia and narcolepsy.

Powers I would like to have:  Time Travel.  I'd like to time travel to major and minor events in history. To resolve historical conspiracies and witness great events in time.  I have no interests in the distant future (at least for now).

What I would do if I won the lottery:  Retire.  From what?  Whatever!  A comfy home on a coast (maybe Spain).  Sit, stand, run, relax, read, write, and be inspired.  Keep a relax busyness.  Travel the world.
