When You Place Animals Together
The Details
Guinea Pigs can live with animals that aren't bigger than them.  They can live with animals such as: Lizards, Chamelions, Rabbits, Hamsters, Gerbils, Rats, or anything in that matter - but however, they should be placed in another cage for safety.  However, there are certain types of dogs that they can live with too.  These dogs are the friendly ones, who don't bite.  Otherwise, guinea pigs cannot face dogs such as: Bulldogs because they could kill them very easily.  Even if the dog is a puppy - when this dog grows up, it might turn out to become a bad dog; do not place it with your guinea pig.  Guinea pigs tend to get used to older animals, and once the older ones grow up - they will kill the guinea pig before you even know it.  Dogs and cats know how to open cages and doors (Only if they're trained) so I would advise you not to put a huge dog or cat near a guinea pig.

One of my older friends told me that she placed her guinea pig behind her dog.  She then turned around, and turned back and didn't spot the guinea pig anywhere.  She then said, "Hey guinea pig!  Where are you!" but no answer or movement.  She then walked to where she had put her guinea pig before, and saw pieces of bones and cut-off parts from the guinea pig.  The dog had killed it.  She hadn't known that the dog does kill guinea pigs, so now she has to watch out because she also has Hamsters and Rats in her house, along with a cat and dog.

Puppies and Kittens are okay with guinea pigs, but if you ever spot any violence occuring, remove the guinea pig from the room, and I would advise you to take the puppy somewhere else.  Puppies and Kittens do get violent sometimes, and when they do, it's trouble.
What you should never do!!!
What you should NEVER do, is leave your guinea pig with a friend who has a dog or cat - when you go on vacation or out somewhere.  The reason for that is, that guinea pigs are comfortable in your own home - which is their environment.  But they are not comfortable with a friend.

Other things are that, the dog and cat can be violent, and the friend wouldn't know it.  So you have to watch out who you give your guinea pig to, and if you can trust them.
