Now here's a question for you...... |
Who am I?!? Want to find out? Stick around, you just might ;) Ok ok I'll give you the first few hints.... |
My name is Karin, or so they've been telling me for the past 27 years. I'm originally from the Netherlands but am currently living in the States with my American husband. I didn't always live in Holland, even though I am Dutch. I lived in Denmark for a good 5 years. Loved the place, but fate decided she wanted me to move on, and move on I did. I've had quite a few jobs through the years, of which I may or may not decide to tell you more in time. |
My last job was at ACN, a telecommunications company, where I worked in the callcenter. Before this however I was employed by that great institution called the Hard Rock Cafe, I loved working there, met many many people there I now have the good fortune of calling friends. We used to go there as often as we could while we still lived in Holland, which wasn't near often enough, Dustin, my husband, would agree with me on that one I am certain. |
Aww man! You want to know more still?? Come on! Do I have to??? OK then... |
This would probably be a good time to tell you a little about my husband Dustin and how we met up. A little unusual perhaps, but a trend that's coming up more and more often (just have to look at my friends), we met over the internet, through a role-play chat about 4 years or so ago. We started out as casual friends, which over the years turned into close friendship. At the time we first met I was with my now ex-boyfriend from Denmark, Henrik. When I broke up with him and went back to Holland (yes, I had moved to Denmark for him), the friendship between Dustin and myself became stronger still. Then last March he told me he had feelings for me, and I acknowledged the same. |
Now, me being me I decided I didn't want to wait and see whether or not there was something between us in real life once we got face to face, so I took up some vacation time I was due and flew over to Oregon in April to go and meet him. From there on in it was a rolercoaster ride, and boy what a ride. I was there for about a week, stayed with his family, got to meet my two best friends Jennifer and William for the first time, got to see where Dustin lived and oh, mustn't forget... got proposed to on my last night there. Of course I said yes, so now here we are... he came to Holland to be with me and we were trying to get all the paperwork in order (which, by the way, was a royal pain). But things developped that meant we had to make a choice and we did, so now we are back in the U.S.A. and working on getting my paperwork done (another pain in the ass). We're taking it one day at a time, but at least we are together. |
We got married on Valentine's Day at 10.30 in the year 2002. We chose to go to a justice of the peace as his dad wasn't going to be able to attend, so we left everyone out. As witnesses we used the news crew that happened to be doing a Valentine's special so we ended up on TV as well. We will be renewing our vows so that family and friends can attend, but all in due time. As I said before, we are now working on getting my papers in order, so I will keep you all posted on what happens next. Keep your fingers crossed all goes well though. Afterall, I want to stay here with my husband ;) |
This is Dustin and me at Shari's. |

Guess I'd better update on the paperwork bit. Unfortunately my extension got denied after all, we are now working on getting my paperwork done, but are having some trouble with it for various reasons. I will keep you posted however. Pray for us. |
