Ever heard of dream catchers? Dustin's shown me how to make them and now I can't seem to stop making them. A dream catcher is American Indian and it's said that if you hang it above your headboard it will catch your dreams, it will lock in the bad dreams in one of the beads for them to be destroyed by the daylight hitting them, and it will store the good ones for you to remember. Well, something to the effect anyway, but if you believe in them (and I will admit I do) they are great for keeping nightmares and such at bay. Plus of course they look really cool. They come in all sizes and colors, so who knows, maybe even one that'll be good for you ^_^ |
Something else I've taken up is cross-stitching. Tracy, a good friend of mine first got me hooked on it and I've been keeping at it as best I could, allowing for time and money and all that good stuff. I've been unable to finish the pattern she gave me due to lack of threads (have been unsuccessful in trying to obtain the particular color I need), but I did finish a pattern of Winnie the Pooh, which I intend to use as part of a quilt made up of different patterns of Pooh and his friends. Once I get pictures made I'll be sure to post them, and most definitely once I have finished the quilt, but give me some time people, it's supposed to be a rather large quilt, so it won't be done by tomorrow. Bare with me ok ;) |
See I knew I forgot something. Some of my other interests are reading, movies, listening to music, role-playing (both online and paper and dice). Give me a moment now, I'm sure I'll come up with more later. |
As far as reading goes, I like all sorts of books. My favorites however are fantasy books, like the Dragonlance books or Forgotten Realms books. Some of my favorite authors are Robert Ludlum, Wilbur Smith, and John Grisham. Believe it or not I happen to be one of many people that are enthralled by the Harry Potter books. And no I do NOT need therapy for it! I happen to be quite happy with that "defect" ;) Anyone know when the next one's due to come out??? The only thing I'm no big fan of is those mooshy mooshy books. Possible exception to that being some of Danielle Steel's books, for example "Letters from Nam" and "A day in Paris", or something to that effect. |
Something else I've been bitten by of late is scrapbooking. I went to a scrapbooking get together at my church and learned how to do scrapbooking and had a blast doing it. So I guess we all know what I'll be doing a lot of given the chance ^_~ |
