Meet the family.. err..well friends that is
Well, my telling you all about me would be incomplete if I didn't also include some things about my friends, after all, these are the people that in part make me who and what I am
To start off with, my two best and oldest friends: Jennifer and William.
I met them on the Internet about 5 years ago by now, on a role-play chat room. William played a character called Polaris and had been on the server for a while already before I joined. Jennifer played a character called Jesca, and she and I started on the server the same week. My boyfriend at the time helped her get to know the room we were in, and Polaris helped me. That's how the three of us first got in touch and our friendship's only grown stronger ever since, even though due to circumstances we are no longer able to stay in touch as frequently as we would like. Both of them have been there for me through very rough, emotional times, always ready with a shoulder to cry on, good advice or anything else I needed. I can only hope they can say the same about me.
Earlier this year we got the chance to meet up in real life for the first time and we hit it off straight away, like there was no difference between how we were with each other online or face-to-face. What am I saying; there WAS no difference between the two. We met up in a place called Shari's in Springfield, Oregon. We sat there for well over 6 hours before we adjourned to Dustin's house and sat talking for god only knows how many hours more. It was great and sad at the same time, because it was the first time we'd met face to face, but it also meant we wouldn't be able to see each other for a long time again, but we keep tabs on each other.
William is someone I have a special bond with as well. He played Polaris as I said before, he was Iyanla's first love. We used to always have long talks, not sure I dare call it debates, even though at times they could turn into one. He is a great person to do a challenge of minds with, as is Jennifer I might add. We would talk about anything and everything, something I will forever treasure and hope to always be able to do.
We got to meet up again a couple of times now that I'm in the country again, which is really cool. We've even been down to visit them, something I'm hoping we will be doing again in future. They continue to be a tremendous support to me and to Dustin as well. I love you guys!! Also thanks for all your help in making this site, I couldn't have done it without you Jen.
Next would have to be Simon! He's an absolute sweetheart and I love him to bits! He's been a great friend to me and a major support. He's currently a server at the Hard Rock Cafe, which is where I met him. He used to live in Denmark during about the same time as I did, but in Copenhagen, where as I lived on the west coast. He's got a great sense of humor and is married to a wonderful guy. Simon's the guy I asked to give me away at my wedding, I wouldn't have anyone else for the job, he means that much to me. You'd have to know him in order to fully understand the connection I have with him
Then there's Joy, who I lived with for the duration of a few months. She's a great person with an immense sense of humor and great drive. Can have a lot of fun with that one, always in for a good laugh, and god knows I've had some with her, not to mention late night talks about anything under the sun. First time I sat up talking girl stuff all night was with her, and it was a great experience and a hell of a lot of fun
Hmm, now let me think, who else is there.........so much to write so little time and space ;)
I've actually had quite a few good friends that I've met on the internet and have lasted throughout the years, though we may never have met in real life yet.
Jona, Cory, Tyler, Deann, Duane, Jennifer (no no not the one I already mentioned), Brian, Tom, Michael, Tim, Al, Trinity, Jeff, Chad, Jin, Ginger, Wolf, Justin, Ashley, Joseph, Todd. I'm probably forgetting quite a few people, if so then feel free to send me a friendly reminder of your existence (just kidding).
A lot of the peeps above mentioned have had quite a lot of influence on my life in some form or another.
During some very hard times in my life, a lot of my friends were there for me when I needed someone to talk to, or just allowed me to cry and helped me get to grips with what was happening. They cheered me up when they could; they gave me advice when I asked for it, and sometimes even when I didn't.
Basically they have been your every day pain in the ass you just simply wouldn't want to live without ;) Ya all know I love you guys :)
My friends, continued.....
As I said on the front page, Trinity and Jeff Walsh are the proud parents of Jaina Elene who was born on Monday the 13th of May. Check out her first website :-) Trinity is from Canada and Jeff from the Chicago area and they met online like my husband and me. Trinity basically did the same as I did and went to meet Jeff to see what things would be like in real life and they were married a few months before Dustin and I.
