Back to My friends
And then there are my friends from the Hard Rock Cafe. Oliver, Danny, Claire, Dave, Aga, Jamie, Ben, Maarten... (Again I am sure I've forgotten to add half the names, so feel free to send yet another friendly reminder of your existence to me).
When I came back to Holland I had no real intention of going back to work straight away, but when I saw the add in the paper from the Hard Rock Cafe I knew I had to apply, and I got the job (despite not having even known what exactly the Hard Rock was). I was there for a good year and a half, and in that time I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of good, nice (if slightly crazy) people, many of which I became quite good friends with.
Another friend like such is Tim, he played Kaijin/Kanzaki, Iyanla's third and last(ing) love and husband. Tim is a very special person who helped me through one of my most difficult times, I called him at all hours of the day almost, just to hear that friendly voice and words of comfort and advice. He's always been there for me, and we shared a lot. The thing that I to this day hold very close to my heart is his music. He is a very talented young man, and someone I have true belief in making it for himself. I'll always treasure his friendship, and again this is a friendship I hope will last our lifetimes
There are a few of my online friends that hold a very special place in my heart, I hope they already know it, if not then I guess now is the time they find out.
One of them is Cory, he played Sarelec Silverfrost and was Iyanla's second love. They were together for a while, and no matter what anyone says, one does develop a special bond with people one plays with on a deeper level (no, to clarify this at once, regular role-play NOT cybering!). To this day we have a deep understanding and friendship, one that I hope will last our lifetimes.
Some other friends of mine are Tracy and Neil (mustn't forget their daughters Charlie and Tamsin). I met them through the Hard Rock Cafe as Neil is a pincollector and Tracy a beany collector. I've known them for almost 2 years now, time sure flies doesn't it. They've been a great support for me in both good and bad times, something I appreciate very much. Tracy's just got into doing web-design (check out her link), something that she's taken to quite well, you go girl!
My friends continued....
I mustn't forget to mention someone else I've befriended since working at the Hard Rock Cafe. Ike's been a sweetheart from the get go, not to mention a heck of a comedian (seriously folks, I met him at Boom Chicago in Amsterdam!). He moved back to the States to try his luck in L.A., and he made it to MADTV together with his friend Josh, also from Boom Chicago. If you have a chance, go check it out! I'm told it's on Fox on Saturday nights. I know I will! Told you you could do it as long as you set your mind to it Ike!
