It was
1977 when Jim went looking for a
companion for his Great Dane. Walking
into a local pet shop he saw a bundle of
hair. He was intrigued. He kept coming
back to it. This pup
was indeed a Lhasa Apso. He purchased it,
searched for the breeder and got the
papers. He was then looking through the
paper and came across a sale notice for
Lhasa Apsos.
He
rang the number and spoke to the breeder.
It was Mrs Maribel Eather of Tieebah
Kennels; she sold him another Lhasa as a
companion for the first and told him
about showing.
Well
as they say the rest is history. Out went
the Great Danes and in came the Lhasas.
These
first two Lhasa were shown and gained
their tittles.
Not
happy with that Jim decided he wanted
more. Finding nothing he liked anywhere,
he decided to breed for himself.
In
the late 1980s Jim moved to The
Blue Mountains and later met, Steven.
Together we have continued breeding under
the Nahemja prefix.
We
are both very proud of our achievements
in breeding over the years. And unlike
some we do not count the number of
champions we have bred. But, look mainly
at the quality of those champions rather
then the quantity.
Our
philosophy in both breeding and showing
is Simple. Never become kennel blind, for
others can and will breed good dogs as
well.
In
1999, Jim felt it was time he put
something back into the dogs he loved. He
successfully completed Judges Training
and is now licensed to judge Australia's
Non Sporting Group. Currently he is
thinking of sitting for his Hound Group.
Mean
while sit back and enjoy your time spent
here. We welcome comments and
suggestions.
