| Left and Right: Glimpses of the extraordinary Summer Palace. This was built by the last Empress Xsi Xsi. As we saw, she spared no expense in creating her summer home. We hiked for an entire day and we didn't see the whole thing! |
| Below: The highlight of the trip was a ten kilometre hike on the Great Wall. It was grueling but we made it (4 hours later). It was some of the most wonderful scenery we have seen in our lifetime. The weather was beautiful, the air crisp, and the view, breathtaking. On the left, far into the mountains, is Mongolia. Believe it our not they did attack the wall a few times. It's insane to think of the time it took to make this Wall. This is a must-see if you ever go to China!! |
