of professional research experience HOME
I joined National Institute of
Hydrology, Jal Vigyan Bhawan Roorkee (A Govt. of India Society, Under the
Ministry of Water Resources), as Scientist “B” at Deltaic Regional Centre,
Kakinada on 24th March 1998 and promoted to Scientist ‘C’ on 3rd
July 2006. In the Institute, I have been doing basic, applied, field oriented
research study and consultancy projects in the area of hydrology and water
resources. My research work includes:
(1)
Modeling of various hydrological processes, such as time series modeling,
rainfall-runoff modeling, etc.
(2)
Flood forecasting using soft computing techniques such as artificial neural
networks (ANN), fuzzy logic and neuro-fuzzy.
(3) Hydrologic modeling using HEC-1 and HEC-2 and hypothetical dam
break flow analysis.
My research interests are focused on
application of modern computing tools to water resources analysis and
hydrologic modelling. Soft computing has to date been the main topic of investigation,
in particular exploring the potential benefits and pitfalls that are associated
with the use of fuzzy computing technique and artificial neural networks,
either alone, or in combination with each other by developing hybrid
intelligent systems. These emergent soft computing technologies have been used
to perform different types of hydrological modelling and water resources
management and to develop alternative solutions. My specific research interest
includes:
Theory and Methods: Neural Networks, Fuzzy logic, Hybrid Intelligent Systems,
Computational Hydraulic, Stochastic Hydrology.
Applications: Flow Computation,
Rainfall-runoff modeling, Flood Forecasting, Time series modeling.
