Welcome to the youth and students page! This page is meant to provide educational resources, announce youth-oriented events, and help organize local high school and college students. In protest of racism, attacks on free speech, and intolerance, local college students and high schoolers alike have recently come out of the woodwork in a very exciting explosion of student activism. Unfortunately, in addition to the large-scale injustices we fight, we have been unwillingly preoccupied waging the struggle against massive censorship and repression, and these incidents have occured on far too many campuses nationwide to be called "isolated incidents". Between the firings of Norman Finklestein and Ward Churchill, police using excess force against a University of Florida student, the arrests of Laura Steigerwald and Tim Hopkins at UNCG, and further repression of dissenting voices all over the nation, a massive students' movement is needed now more than ever. |
