Art Block
Course Description:  Art Block explores art through historical, critical and aesthetic perspectives.  Studio work centers on the continued expansion of abilities to use a variety of art processes and techniques. Course content is based on the interaction of the individual with the world.  The art that is studied and produced will be a developed exploration of this theme.  Art Block follows the NC Standard Course of Study for Art 3 and Art 4.
Pacing Guide/ NCSCS Goals
Art Block (Art III and IV combined class) will be offered again Fall 2005.
Requirements: must pass Art II with a B or higher, permission of the instructor.
To be sucessful in this class you must be  highly motivated, creative, a non-slacker who is willing to try new things while applying your technical knowledge.  Upper level art classes are intended for the student who is thinking about a possible career in the arts, or who is serious about continuing thier development of creative thinking skills.
In addition to studio work, you are expected to complete weekly sketchbook assignments, develop a web page, cd portfolio, research paper and participate in shows.
