CHARCTERS IN THE HARRY POTTER SERIES |
Harry Potter House: Gryffindor Harry's parents were murdered by the Dark Wizard, Lord Voldemort when he was only a year old. After his parents died, Voldemort tried to kill him too, but the curse backfired, leaving a scar, shaped like a bolt of lightning on his forehead. On his 11th birthday, Harry finds out that he is a wizard and then starts attending the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry is very good at flying a broomstick and casting the Lumos spell (it lights up dark areas) but he also possesses the rare ability to talk to snakes. Harry has plenty of courage, making him a Gryffindor. |
Ron Weasley House: Gryffindor Harry's best friend. Ron is an excellent chess player and he is usually hanging out with Harry and Hermione. Ron is just trying to prove himself that he can be a great wizard (even if he is poor and has to wear a hand-me-down robe) and be just as great as his brothers. Ron is basically the main supporting character (other than Hermione) who is kind of the comic relief. When Harry's in trouble, he always has Ron to back him up, making Ron a true friend. |
Hermione Granger House: Gryffindor Hermione (pronounced: Her-MY-oh-NEE) Granger is the smart one. Whenever a teacher dishes out a question, it is a sure bet that Hermione will raise her hand first, or whenever there is free time for her, she'll usually be reading a book or writing letters to her parents (who are both dentists). Since Hermione is Muggle-born (Muggles are non-magic folk), the Slytherins will call her a "Mud-blood". Despite this fact, Hermione is still a great witch who will help Harry in any stuation. |
Draco Malfoy House: Slytherin A rich, snotty kid who absolutely hates Harry Potter. He enjoys acting like he's the best and will do ANYTHING to get Harry and his friends in trouble. Being Harry's arch-nemesis, Draco tries to be better, but is no match for Gryffindor! |
Neville Longbottom House: Gryffindor Neville Longbottom is a mixed lineage wizard, who is often picked on. But there are good things in him, he is very skilled in Herbology class and he enjoys being with his friends at Hogwarts. |
Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle House: They are both in Slytherin Draco Malfoy's two thuggish cronies. They like to torture other Gryffindor students and follow Malfoy wherever he goes. |
