Marigold (Calendula officinalis)
-use:  flower petals
-internally:  relief of ulcers and indigestion, may relieve gallbladder problems; regulate periods
externally:  treatment of skin disorders, minor wounds, burns, bruises, strains; relief from varicose
                    veins and hemorrhoids; conjunctivitis
-infusion-up to 3 cups a day; tincture 1 tsp. three times a day; ointment as needed

Milk Thistle (silybum morianum) [St. Mary's thistle]
-use: seeds
-liver tonic; may increase milk flow in nursing mothers; counteract impact of irritants and pollutants
-capsules- 1 three times a day; infusion up to 3 cups daily; tincture 1 tsp. three times daily

Motherwort (Leonurus cardica)
-use:  leaves, flowers and stems
-excellent heart tonic; can reduce hot flashes; has sedative qualities; promotes menstruation; can
  relive heart conditions such as palitations and tachycardia; eases nervous tension; effective for
  insomnia; relieves symptons of menopause and PMS; eases painful periods especially when associated
  with anxiety
-extract 10-15 drops in warm water three times a day; infustion up to 2 cups a day; tincture 1/2 to 1
  tsp. twice a day
*uterine stimulant - do not use with pregnant women
*do not use with high blood pressure and clotting disorders

Mullein (Verbascum thapsus) [Aaron's Roda, candlewick, feltwort, lady's foxglove, lungwort, shepard's
                                                club, torch, velvet's dock]
-use:  flowers, leaves and roots
-remedy for respiratory ailments such as asthma, bronchitis, congestion, coughs, colds, hay fever,
  sore throats; auxiliary treatment for emphysema; compresses effective for hemorrhoids; may help
  relieve diarrhea; may relieve swollen glands
-extract 25 to 40 drops in warm water twice a day; infusion 1 to 3 cups daily; oil 2-3 drops in ear
  overnight for ear infections; tincture 1/2 to 1 tsp. three times a day; compress use locally

Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha)
-use:  gum resin
-local antiseptic for wounds; good for mouth/gum infections, bleeding gums, canker sores, gingivitis,
  bad breath; effective for digestive and intestinal disorders; throat diseases; chronic diarrhea; may
  reduce blood cholesterol
-capsules 2-6 three times a day; infusion 1-2 cups daily; tincture 1/4 to 1 tsp. three times daily;
  gargle as needed
