Setting

London - The capital and largest city in Great Britain.  The story opens with five men on the River Thames.  This is where Marlow begins telling his story.

Brussels - Capital City of Beligium.  This is where the headquarters are for the company that hires Marlow.  Marlow speaks of how much he dislikes this town, which is centered around its imperialistic business.

Congo River - Greatest waterway in Central Africa.  This is where Marlow's dislike for imperialism is shown the most.  They have to travel up the river, which makes it seem as though the river is trying to keep them out of the Congo.
