Here's another pattern, No. 38. This one has an impressive heritability of 81% (the current record holder) but this is mainly because 6 out of the 10 strains don't perform it at all, or very rarely, so their variability is 0 or close to it. On the other hand, the two wild-derived strains, CAST and CHZECHII, perform it a lot. As the graph shows, the CAST mice actually spend 2% to 6% of their movement time in this pattern.
This is a very dynamic pattern. It's defined as the following combination:

Only during minutes 10 - 20 of the 30min session:
Very high speed (>60 cm/s) AND
Very negetive jerk (that is, vilolently decreasing the acceleration)

Usually such a large decrease in acceleration implies changing from aecceleration to decceleration. This will appear as a peak in the speed profile..
