Blue Key Meeting Minutes Thursday, April 25, 2002 I. Call to Order- 8:10 p.m. II. Officer Reports A. President- Vanessa Byrd Don’t worry about being inactive. The new constitution was a trial run, and it did not work out quite as well as we had thought. You will still have to pay ten dollars for the banquet. Graduating seniors can buy their honor cords for ten dollars in Mrs. Moore’s office. Only those above the 60% mark of service hours get their cords for free. Thirty-two students are here tonight for their interview with the entire Blue Key chapter. Feel free to ask questions. We are accepting 21. The banquet is next Thursday at 7 p.m. in the President’s Room. Please don’t forget to pay Mrs. Moore by Monday. Please wear your Blue Key navy blazer. President Webb is our guest speaker. B. Vice President- John Birch I talked to Mrs. Jones about graduation. She needs ten people for the morning graduation at 9:15 a.m. and ten people for the afternoon graduation at 2:15 p.m. Please wear your Blue Key navy blazer. You will be working at the doors and ushering people to their seat. C. Volunteer Coordinator- Sally Hernandez Habitat for Humanity is still open. Service hours done there from now on will count for next year. They are working everyday from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Bossier Street. D. Corresponding Secretary- Jennifer Pellegrin No report. E. Recording Secretary- Paige Mitchell No report. F. Treasurer- Mandy Cason We have about $950 in our account. The banquet is costing around $500. III. Special Honor Awards A. Dean Bosarge Award “The recipient of this award will be an active collegiate first year member…who has performed in accord with the Blue Key motto, ‘Serving, I live.’” Alison Miers nominated Paige Mitchell. She accepted. Mandy Cason nominated Brett Chiquet. He accepted. Frank Toro nominated Sally Hernandez. She accepted. Rachel Hetler nominated Mandy Cason. She accepted. The winner will be announced at the banquet. B. Blue Key Senior Award “The recipient of this award should be known for continued exemplary performance in the NSU chapter.” The recipient should be an active senior graduating member of the organization.
