Chapter Two |
"Can I help you with something Justin Randall?" I could hear him sigh. I only called him Justin Randall when I was mad at him. "Okay Chelle, I know you're mad, but I've been busy with all this solo stuff." I laughed, "Yeah, I think I heard that SOMEWHERE!" My anger was fixing to explode, I could feel it. "Michelle, I didn't call to fight with you. I'm in town and I want to see you." I had barely heard his last words, 'he's in town?' I hadn't seen him in almost 2 years. We only talked on the phone and occasionally over the Internet. But he was in South Carolina; Chesnee, South Carolina.....to see me! What was I supposed to do? I wanted to see him, he was my best friend. But there is so much pain. "Justin, I don't know." I knew he was getting mad. "Okay, Michelle Lea Young! I'm coming over! Your mother told me where yo live and I will be there in one minute. So just get the hell over it!" And then my line went dead. 'I'm gonna have to remember to KILL my mother!' ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Man, are you sure she wants us over there? She didn't sound too happy." Justin cut his eyes at the older man, "Lance, don't worry. She loves me! I know it will be okay." He was trying to convince himself more than lance. Then their bodyguard, Lenny, turned around. "We're here." They walked up to the apartment door and Justin looked at Lance, "Here goes nothing." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I heard the knock. 'Oh, NO! He's here!' I walked slowly to the door, smoothing down my skirt. I opened the door and was totally surprised. He wasn't alone. I looked passed Justin and saw Lance Bass and another man. Justin immediately grabbed me, rapping his arms around me. "Hey Chelle Bells!" I had forgotten all my anger, I had missed him. "Hey Justin." Then I let go of him and walked back inside my apartment. "Come on in, make yourselves at home." They followed me inside and sat comfortably on the larger sofa. Lance stood up, "It's nice to finally meet you. You have no idea how many times I have heard your name over the past eight years." I shook his outreached hand, "Nice to meet you too. It's nice to know the guy that stole my best friend." I instantly saw the nervous look on Lance's face. "I'm just kidding. I only act mad at Justin to give him a hard time. I know how busy yall have been." Justin slapped my arm playfully, "Hey, that's not nice!" I smiled, "Justin Randall Timberlake! What would your mother think of you abusing women?" I heard Lance and the other man laughing, "Lenny, she's gonna fit right in!" I smiled, "I'm sorry for not introducing myself. I'm Michelle. I gather you're the bodyguard, Lenny?" The bigger man nodded his head yes, "That would be me." We all talked for a while and I was getting thirsty. I stood up, "Would anyone like anything to drink?" They all said yes, opting for bottled water. I was walking away when I heard Justin's footsteps behind me. I turned around and hugged him when we were alone in the kitchen. he smiled down at me, "I guess that means that you're not mad at me anymore?" I smiled at his innocent tone. "No, I can't stay mad at you. We've both been very busy." He smiled and I figured that my Mom hadn't told him, because he didn't respond. 'So, my Mom did know how to keep her mouth shut. Thank God! I'm just not ready to have that discussion.' "Michelle?" I broke my thoughts as Justin grabbed my hand, pulling me back into the living room. I leaned over to give Lance his water and Justin screamed. "Michelle Lea! Stop and lift up your shirt!" Lance looked at me strangely as I complied with Justin's orders. "When did you get that?" I pointed to the tattoo on my lower back. "I got it the day I turned 18. I told you that you had missed a lot!" Lance looked at my back and pointed, "That's nice work. What does it mean?" I pointed at the Chinese symbol, "That si the symbol for life, and those are my guardian fairies." Justin plopped down beside Lance. "I can't believe you got a TAT!" I laughed as I handed Lenny his water, "From what I read, so did you! And you're the scrady cat! And if you can't believe the tat, check this out." I lifted my shirt to expose my pierced navel. He laughed in shock, "You were terrified of needles when we were younger. I guess things have changed." I looked off into the distance, 'If you only knew.' |
