Chapter Eight
I tired to pull away, but Blake had a firm grip on my arm. Before I knew what was happening he had thrown me up against a car, and was screaming in my face.

"You BITCH! You turned my own child against me. You're an awful mother!"

I could see Justin and Lenny running around the back of the car. Justin grabbed Blake by the neck, throwing him from his precious position. And before Blake could get his balance, Justin hit him across the face. Blake instantly swung back at him, but Lenny stepped in front of Justin. "I wouldn't do that."

Blake dropped his fist, but walked up as close to Justin as Lenny would allow. "You won't take her from me! She'll always be mine! both of them, Kayla too!" By the time Blake was done screaming, the police were pulling him to his car.

Kayla had finally fallen asleep as we were on the way back to my house. I was watching her sleep when I felt Justin's had brush up against mine. "Are you okay Chelle?"

I nodded, "Yeah, what time does the flight leave in the morning?"

Justin's eyes lit up with pleasure. "It leaves at nine am. Is it cool if we stay at your place, we didn't rent a hotel room."

I laid my head up against his shoulder, "Yes, of course." We both sat in silence all the way back to my apartment.

As we walked into my apartment I noticed that the couch was only going to fit one. Justin smiled, holding Kayla in his arms, "Chelle, show me to her room."

I waved them in and locked the door. Then I walked with Justin, showing him to Kayla's room. Once he had laid her down and I had shut the door, I spoke. "Justin, the couch folds out, but it's only gonna fit one."

He thought for a minute and then smiled. "It's cool. I'll just crash in your bed. It'll be just like old times."

I smiled at the thought of our childhood. We would always sleep beside each other on our homemade pallets when Justin would spend the night. And if I was ever sad, he would hold me until I fell asleep.

I nodded and went back to the living room. I found Lenny already on the couch. "Lenny, you could fold that out into a bed!"

He laughed and laid back down. "That's okay. I'll be fine."

I went to the hall closet and retrieved a blanket for him. He thanked me and I noticed that Justin was no where to be found.

I walked back down the same hallway toward my room. The door was cracked and I could tell that my lamp was the only light illuminating the room. I was completely stunned when I opened the door. There he was, my best friend. He had removed his T-shirt and pants, only clothed now with his gray boxers. He turned around and my breath was stolen again.

He had grown into a man, he wasn't my 'Justy-Wusty' anymore. I let my eyes wonder down his body, the most amazing sight. But I must have been completely obvious.

     "Michelle, you're staring."

I broke from my stare to see that grin. The one that made girls melt completely. But I pushed my thoughts away. 'It's just Justin. Remember, supersoaker Justin.'

I smiled as I walked into my bathroom to change, "Do you blame me?" Justin froze as I shut the door. 'Did I just say that? What the hell is wrong with me!'

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Justin couldn't believe his ears. 'Did Michelle just say that? Naw.'

When I returned I was simply wearing a tank top and some boxers. Justin had already climbed into my bed and I could see him staring at me. 'Why does he look so right sitting in my bed? My mind must be malfunctioning! Get a grip! It's Justin!'

He smiled and patted the bed where he had turned down the sheets. Not saying anything I climbed into my bed. He smiled, "You look cute. You've truly grown into a woman."

I blushed at his words. 'Why is my heart pounding?'

"Thanks. You don't look all that bad either." I glanced at the beautiful cross tattoo taking up his upper left arm. I rubbed my fingers across it, not noticing that Justin closed his eyes, "That's a beautiful cross. I saw your other ones too. do you have a fetish or something?"

He laughed shaking his head no. Then he opened his arms, beckoning me to him. "Come here silly."

And without hesitation I climbed into his arms. 'This was supposed to be like old times, but something is different.' I laid my head against his hard chest, "I've missed you Justin."

He didn't move, he just rubbed his hand down my bare arm. "I've missed you too. But I'm back, and I'm not going anywhere. I promise."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
He could feel my breathing slow as I drifted off to sleep. 'Why would anyone leave you? You're perfect in every way. Beautiful, smart, loving, what more does a guy need?' What he was feeling was scaring the shit out of him. 'I'd lay here forever hold you, Chelle.' And with that he fell asleep, still holding onto his best friend.
