The Northwestern College Hockey program was founded during the 2000-2001 season. In the inaugural year the team established itself by competing with the Bethel College JV (MIAC D-III) team and several community college club teams.In the three seasons since the first year, roster depth and talent have increased significantly.The schedule has reflected this growth, and past opponents now include teams from Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Michigan.
