July 24, 2004 Overnight visit!
Nick and I were up early to get the kids and once again we planned on flying but decided to drive due to the rain. We got there about 9:30 am and they were ready to go! They said their goodbyes and hopped in the car. I sat in the back with them all the way home. We had fun reading books, playing and talking. We stopped in Salina to buy them both some new tennis shoes. It was fun!! Back at home Brooke and both sets of grandparents were waiting for us to return.
We crammed a lot into those two days! They got to see their rooms, eat at Pizza Hut, go to church, fly in dad's airplane, meet lots of new friends, animals and family. It was a ton of fun! They both went right to bed and slept all night. The next day, their foster dad came and picked them up. They didn't cry or fuss until they got home and then Tori was upset so Nick and I spoke to her on the phone and tried to calm her down. I just can't imagine how confusing this is for such little ones. I pray that God will make this transition as easy as possible. The next visit will be a week long and we will see how life REALLY is with two more kids in the house!
