Medusa
The anger has gone,
and the tears dried
because I've decided
not to live the second half of my life
feeling this way;
I've decided
not to feel anything.
But I'll not forget you:
in the years to come,
when asked why
I'm cold and calloused,
I'll respond by saying
that I once met a lovely Gorgon
who turned my heart to stone,
and I'll say just two words:
your name.
