		Covention News: August 9-12, 2001 - Golden Key International Convention, Dallas
		As usual, this year's International Convention in Dallas was a big success.  Twenty new chapters were chartered worldwide this past year, including the first chapter in the UK.  As Golden Key continues to expand, so does corporate sponsorship.  This year Golden Key added JobsDirect.com. Alumni chapters, in particular, are gaining momentum.  There are currently seven active alumni chapters in the US.  Dallas is the most recent chapter, while LA and DC will hope to charter this year.  The Orlando Golden Key Alumni Chapter was represented by Linh N. Nguyen, Chair.  As new alumni chapters emerge, new challenges will come up.  The alumni chapter representatives held working sessions, presented a workshop on developing an alumni chapter, and manned a booth at the CAFE Luncheon.  They were also present at the Alumni Reception for the Dallas area Golden Key Alumni. Linh Nguyen and Diane Roberts (Chair, Atlanta Alumni Chapter) read the following poem they wrote for the Dallas alumni: The Dallas Brand Golden Key Will Forever Be A Part of Dallas History, You'll Begin Your Journey Tonight With Alumni Stars Shining Bright. New Activities, New Goals New Officers, New Roles, Help from Atlanta and NYC Orlando and Washington, DC. Another Chapter from the Lone Star State Houston is Here to Celebrate, The Bay Area is Here to Stay Detroit Will Soon Come Our Way. Steve's Been Our Buddy at Golden Key Charting Our Path for All to See, Sitting Atop Reunion Tower Dallas Alumni, This is Your Hour. Diane Roberts/Linh N. Nguyen 2001 Golden Key International Convention OGKAC will support the UCF GK chapter next spring as they host the Southeastern Regional Conference in Orlando.  If you are interested, please let us know.  Next year's International Convention will mark the 25th anniversay of Golden Key Internaional Honour Society.  Expect a grand time.
		August 3-6, 2000 - Golden Key International Convention, Los Angeles
		The International Convention in Los Angeles was a huge success.  With over 1,300 delegates representing 300 chapters across the world, Golden Key has truly become an international organization.  This year's convention at the famous Century Plaza Hotel was by far the biggest.  International representation included chapters from Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Canada, and South Africa.  Golden Key hopes to add chapters in the UK in the coming year. See Pictures Congratulations to the University of Central Florida for winning one of the Most Improved Chapter Award in LA!  Three officers and their new advisor accepted the award at the Awards Luncheon. Alumni chapters are beginning to make headlines at the annual conventions.  This year's activities included an alumni reception for the greater Los Angeles area the first night of the convention, a worskshop on how to start an alumni chapter, and a booth at the CAFE Luncheon.   Alumni chapter representatives met to discuss organizational challenges and helped to further define this new endeavor with Steve Pracht, Director of Alumni Affairs and Development. Make plans to attend next year's Golden Key International Convention to be held in Dallas, TX in August 2001.  The Southeastern Regional Conference, of which the Orlando Alumni Chapter is part of, will be held in Ft. Myers, FL in March 2001.
