The Red Regiment marching show for 2002 was entitled American Icons. It proved to a very educational and entertaining show for the group to perform and for the spectators to enjoy. They amassed over 200 hours per person in practicing and performing this exciting show. The show entailed songs from the Movie 'Saving Private Ryan', Shenendoah, In the Mood, and Simple Gifts. It took the audience through the Preamble of the constitution, and visually provided sections of Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness. The Red Regiment placed in good standing at both competitions this year at the Bronco Classic at Brookwood High School and Old South Classic at Newnan High School. Superior ratings were achieved at both places, and several of the of groups placed 1st or 2nd in the overall standings. GOOD JOB. A highlight of the year was the number of performances in and aroundTottori, Japan at the request of the Japanese Government. This group represented the entire North American Continent in an International Festival playing various performances. Over 100,00 people witnessed these including the Crown Prince.
