Oron Schwartz was born in Israel. During the years 1993-1999 he graduated 1st and 2nd degrees at the Jerusalem Music Academy in Composition and Musical theory (under Doc. A. Ben-shabetai, Doc. Y. Leef, Doc. L. kobliyakov and Prof. M. zur), in conducting (under Prof. M.Rodan) and specialized in Ancient music.(under Mr. D. Shemer). In 1997 he won the Fauerscho institute scholarship and studied computer music under the Danish composer Prof. Ivar Frounberg. He was also educated as a percussionist under Mr. A.Bor (principle percussionist In the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra). Schwartz graduated the soloist class in the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen under Prof. Bent Lylloff in 1994 while supported by the Hartwing foundation scholarships. In 1997 the Jerusalem Music Center launched a c.d of his "Percussion" which includes percussion Solo and chamber works played by him including his work From heavens unto mists for Vibraphone, Flute, and Piano. In 1998-1999 he attended advanced studies of computer music research at the Bar-ilan University. Since 2001, He attends Master's Degree studies of History and Philosophy at the Tel-Aviv university. Since 2002, he works on various compositions at the electronic Studio of the Israeli contemporary Players' Electronic Studio in Tel-Aviv, Exploring new applied sound processing technologies and composition methods. He is currently performing as a soloist and a chamber musician in public and broadcasted performances and puts much of his energy into composition, mainly concentrating on projects involved with Technological means. His works are performed in his homeland and abroad. |
