School Assembly Programs

As a former school teacher, I know first hand how important quality assemblies are for students. Assemblies can be grouped into two categories: mandatory and reward/educational.

Mandatory assemblies are pretty much run by school personnel. These include assemblies like orientation, honors or discipline. Reward/fun and educational are normally run by outside personnel who are specialized in certain areas of need. Assemblies, regardless of category, are important for students because they give students a break from teachers, and teachers aldo get a break from the students. the assemblies can also be used as an education supplement. Some good examples are Character Counts, KNow Tobacco, Read for Success, Red Ribbon Week, etc. These programs can also be used as incentive for students to meet certain standards to attend the programs, which makes them even more valuable.

I have used my experiences as a school teacher, a coach, and most important as a professional basketball performer to come up with a fun and educative program that will appeal to all your students. I have one of the greatest platforms (basketball handling demonstration), which has been featured in numerous TV shows around the world. Even the National Basketball Association (NBA) has used the platform for its fan attaction during the All-Star games the last four years.

  • About Joseph Odhiambo:

Joe "the trick-star" Odhiambo is originally from Nairobi, Kenya in East Africa. His up-bringing in a deprived environment gave him a rather different outlook toward life where everybody had to work extremely hard to move ahead. Despite all the limitation, Odhiambo managed to make it in this tough situation where the rule of the day is "you for yourself, God for all of us."

It would have been easy for him to lie down and blame the situation that he was in, but he didn't. Joe realized early that we are limited more by our imagination that our abilitity or social status. Thus, he started thinking and dreaming big. What he did not have in ability, he simply worked harder on that everybody else around him.

Odhiambo now communicates these tough life lessons and experiences to his audience. He strongly believes that even thought we start the race at different places, when the distances are message at the finish line, we all cover the same length. You cannot despair because you are far behind or take it easy because you are head.

Odhiambo practically show the students that people who succeed in their endeavors are not special in any way. They use simple attributes that most of us term trivial or unimportant to forge ahead. These attributes are as:
    1. Faith: Believing in one's ability regardless of what other say.
    2. Persistent: Coming back and doing the same thing over and over again until you succeed.
    3. Patient: Understanding that Rome was not built in one day.
    4. Working Hard: There is not short-cut to anywhere worth going. If there was, everybody would already be there - successful.
These attributes coupled with a strong desire to succeed will project just about anybody to stardom.

Triple T Basketball Skill & Entertainment has some of the best school programs that you will find anywhere. The programs are unique because Joe "the trick-star" Odhiambo does live in the past - he walks his talk. Odhiambo will not only tell your students how they can succeed with their endeavors, he will show them through physical actions. He relishes the challenge of what have you done for me lately.
