People have asked why they should pay a nominal fee ($3.00, $4.00, $5.00) when they can do the same things at no cost with other groups.  Some reasons:

1.We do an annual anniversary party which is free to all comers, as well as an annual meeting/dinner which the Klub subsidizes at about 40%; and we support the Wildlife Sanctuary at Flamingo Gardens.

2. Paying a fee in advance helps ensure that you will show up.  Our experience, along with many other groups, has been that the no-show rate is too high, and investing a small amount of money helps people to show up or cancel in advance.

3.  Our monthly dues help support our activities of buying gear and equipment to lend to folks who don’t have bicycles, tents, mattresses, sleeping bags, backpacks.  This, of course, is for Klub Outings only.

4.  In addition, the Klub brings on camping trips lanterns, stoves, cooking gear, pots, pans, lantern stands, and other items that can be shared so that participants can travel extremely lightly.
