Cross Canada Canoe Expedition (SOLO):
Pacific to the Atlantic....approxiamately 9000 kilometers  solo  in one season!
An epic journey across 4 time zones, 8 provinces, spanning a continent, lasting 6 to 7 months....solo!

Back in the 1990's
Frank Wolfe and Roman Rockcliffe were the first to paddle coast to coast across Canada in ONE paddling season, they paddled from St. John New Brunswick to Vancouver British Columbia, paddling a kevlar Clipper Tripper canoe.
    In 1999
Ilya Klvana became the first person to paddle coast to coast SOLO in one season...in a sea kayak. Ilya paddled from Prince Rupert BC to the northen tip of Newfoundland.

My proposed trip would stretch from British Columbia  all the way to the Atlantic Ocean in the Maritime Provinces. The trip would take  approxiametely 6  months to complete and would follow a west to east route, following along many of Canada's old Fur Trade Canoe Routes.

Watch this site for more details and updates which will be added soon.
To make this expedition possible will require a time committment of between 6 and 7 months from myself as well as a large expenditure of cash for equipment, clothing, food, film processing, satellite phone, portable solar charging system,  website development etc..
In order to make this expedition possible I will be looking for a number of sponsors ranging from gear and equipment suppliers to cash sponsors to help offset the huge cost of this undertaking.
Throughout the journey I will be keeping a detailed journal and will periodically be sumbitting articles to major newspapers, magazines and online paddling websites.
Part of the focus of the expedition itself will be to raise the awareness of Canada's diverse river system and the history of these ancient paddling routes in opening up this vast nation back in the time of the once booming Fur Trade.
Upon completion of this trans continental paddling journey I plan to immediately commence work on a book which will detail the entire expedition from beginning to end, from the initial planning phases, through acquiring the sponsorship needed to make it a reality all the way through the entire paddling journey coast to coast.
