Waubedonia Coaching Guidelines 1. Make good use of practice time. Get your group organized quickly and allow for many touches on the ball and playing of the game. Bored or off task players are a signal that there is too much waiting time, or that it's time to move on. 2. Have a topic in mind to center your practice around. Stick to technique topics of dribbling, receiving, shooting, and passing. Make comments to players about the technique and demonstrate. For example: passing with inside of foot requires the toe up off the ground to lock ankle, non-kicking foot beside the ball and pointing at target, etc. 3. Keep your focus on improving player skills. Don't worry about wins and losses. Skill will eventually win over strength, speed, and improper technique. Our goal as a club should be to develop these players for the future. |
