Celtic Christian art and/or the are  in the Book of Kells
Delegate William Kana provided us with a wealth of information on the Celtic dance.  Where its origins and dates are a bit unknown, we did learn that the dances came from Celtic peoples in the early 1000 A.D.   These dances were banned by the Anglo-Normans and went underground.  Later revived by Queen Elisabeth I – and even then most continued in secret.  By 1893 Irish dance groups were formed.  There are four basic dances 1) Jig; 2) Reel; 3) Hornpipe; 4) Set – and each have subsets.

Delegate Kana's Question:  What influenced the design of Irish step dancing cosstumes?
