Most of us will never get to travel to Poland, so I hope to present to you a
Virtual Tour of Poland Today and Poland Yesterday. You will learn about
the worlds only Medieval Forest, Architecture that dates as far back to 5th
or 6th century. Traditions that have long been lost or forgotten. Traditions
you may remember as a child. I hope you will send me stories and recipes
your grandmother and grandfather shared with you as a child so I may
share them with all that visit.

Poland is a fascinating country with one of the most diverse of all histories
in the world. It has always been a country of Proud people. Proud of
where they came from, proud of what they have accomplished
in the face of tragedy, wars, famine, religious persecution and injustice.

This is a country where, when a man says "This is my land!" It is the land
where he fought and bled, it is the land that has the blood from the hands
of his father and his fathers before him. It is the land which hold the tears
of our mothers, grandmothers and our great, great grandmothers.
Poland is a country that when you walk by an unmarked grave, it may very
well be the grave of an ancestor that was killed trying to protect his
ancestrial rights and protecting the ground on which you are walking. It is
a land that has been rebuilt and rebuilt and rebuilt. Because this is the
fortitude of a Polander. I know this to be true, because I can see that in
each and everyone of you today.

Fortitude is what we brought with us on our voyage to this great country.
Fortitude is what we used to plow the virgin lands of America.
It is what we have passed on to our children and our grandchildren.

I want to give you an understanding of why our ancestors had to leave
their Homeland to ensure your future. And what it has meant to our
families today.
