They must be careful that when calming other down that they don't interfere with or pass a bad judgment , for in the end it is their job to cut and set up the War Pole. Chiefs receive{ 2d24, 25 mounted)
5. Medicine chief - Sometimes it is necessary to select one person to lead a war or raiding party that may not have the qualifications nor status required to be a chief. A medicine chief is a temporary  status in the sense that he gets to wear four feathers, use 2d25s , receive a coup point bonus and call the shots for that campaign only . He must always defer to those of higher status than him however, but those of higher status must understand that he is chosen to lead that mission and grant him that space in the field , not the camp or village. Only the Principal Chief can select a medicine chief, and does so just to see what kind of leadership skills our warriors have or else just test some mettle .

5. Soldier Chief/Blotanhunka or War Chief -Only those of high coup, acts of honor, clear judgment and bravery ,providing for the good of the whole, may achieve chief status.

6. Civil Chief(peace chief)..When a War chief leads in times of peace, he is considered a civil chief.

7. Principal Chief/Otancan...Ubar,hands-down leader.
